A handsome Victorian pitch pine Davenport desk dating from the late 19th century, combining compact proportions with practical storage. Raised on distinctive spiral-turned supports, the desk features a sloping writing surface that lifts to reveal a spacious interior, alongside a bank of four drawers to one side. The reverse is finished with matching panelled sides, allowing it to be displayed freestanding within a room.

Crafted from solid pitch pine, the timber displays a warm golden colour with attractive figuring and a well-developed patina acquired through years of use. Originally designed as a compact writing desk for the Victorian home, the Davenport remains a highly functional piece, equally suited to use as a desk or as an attractive statement piece in a study, hallway or living room.
