A mid-20th-century Swedish coffee flask housed within a handcrafted birch-bark case, dating to circa 1950–1965.
The cylindrical carrier is constructed from layers of natural and darker birch bark with scalloped decoration, secured with small metal pins. It has an integral handle, removable decorated lid and matching birch-bark covered stopper.
Inside is the original heat-resistant glass flask marked “Schott u. Gen. Mainz / Jenaer Glas”, identifying it as German-made Schott Jenaer glass. An unusual combination of traditional Scandinavian birch-bark craft and mid-century European glassmaking.
