A fine example of early 19th-century silver lustreware, this small English jug dates to around 1820–1830. Decorated with a stylised floral band and foliate motifs in golden yellow enamel over a dark metallic ground, it captures the richness and detail of the period in a compact form.
These jugs were once affordable imitations of silver tableware — and are now admired for their distinctive charm. The patina and wear reflect its age and utility, giving the piece depth and individuality. Collectable and full of character. The pouring spout has been replaced and painted (see pics).
