Early 19th-century Bible box on stand, c.1820–1840, most likely Scottish or Northern English. A well-proportioned example with a sloping lift lid, carved frieze and panelled sides, raised on a later but sympathetic stand. Originally used to store the family Bible and associated papers, it now works equally well as a compact side table or hall piece. Good colour and surface throughout with honest wear consistent with age and use.
