A charming pine boarding school desk dating from the early to mid-20th century, retaining its original raised stationery shelf, single drawer and inset ink well. Built for everyday use within a British boarding school, it is a practical piece of educational history with plenty of authentic character.

The desk has developed a warm honey-coloured patina through decades of use, with honest wear, knocks and marks adding to its appeal. Inside the drawer are numerous handwritten names, dates and doodles left by former pupils, many dating from the mid-20th century, providing a fascinating glimpse into its past and making this a truly unique piece.

Ideal as a compact writing desk, hallway table or decorative feature in both traditional and contemporary interiors.
