Hand-staved timber body with heavy forged iron bands and a working swing handle. Deep colour and surface wear from use, with a beautifully patinated interior. A strong, honest piece of rural Scottish vernacular – ideal beside a hearth, for logs, or as a sculptural standalone form.

- Condition: Structurally sound. Age-related wear throughout, shrinkage to staves, historic losses and surface erosion to the handle as photographed. Good colour and patina.
- Provenance / story: Traditional harvest / field bucket, cooper-made for hard daily use. Surviving examples with original ironwork and handle are increasingly scarce.
- Care tips: Keep in a dry, stable environment. Do not place directly on damp floors. Clean with a dry cloth only.
