A beautifully produced Victorian illustrated volume, Album of Scottish Scenery, featuring a series of engraved views inspired by locations associated with Sir Walter Scott's poems and novels. Written by John Tillotson, the work is illustrated by leading nineteenth-century landscape artists including J. M. W. Turner RA, David Roberts, William Westall, A. W. Callcott RA, Clarkson Stanfield RA, Copley Fielding and others.

Published by T. J. Allman of London, the book contains numerous steel-engraved plates protected by their original tissue guards. The finely decorated publisher's cloth binding is typical of the period, with elaborate gilt and blind-stamped decoration. The volume was clearly presented as a gift, retaining a contemporary presentation inscription reading "To Donald J. Mathieson, with kind regards from George W. Cuthbertson."

The combination of celebrated artists, high-quality engravings and Scottish subject matter makes this an attractive Victorian gift book, appealing to collectors of Scottish topography, nineteenth-century illustration and the work of J. M. W. Turner.
