A traditional 19th-century Swedish wooden water bucket accompanied by a large hand-carved wooden ladle.
The coopered bucket is constructed from vertical wooden staves secured by bent wooden hoops, with a fitted wooden lid and integral carrying handle. The large ladle is carved from a single piece of wood with a deep bowl and distinctive hooked handle.
Both pieces have a wonderfully dry, worn surface with the marks and staining of prolonged use. A great example of practical Swedish folk craft.
